Delete your Mintakka account
How to delete your Mintakka account, and what happens to your data when you do.
From the app
Go to Profile → Account → Delete the account and choose how far it reaches:
- Keep my data on this phone — the account is deleted; your routes, outings and downloaded maps stay on the device.
- Erase this phone too — the account is deleted, and so is everything Mintakka holds on the device.
You may be asked to sign in again first.
Without the app
Write to us from the account's e-mail address asking for it to be deleted. We reply when it is done.
What is deleted
Your account and e-mail address, your sign-in, your subscription state, your profile (name and maximum heart rate), your library in the cloud (routes and outings) and your live shares.
It is immediate and cannot be undone.
What you published stays
Routes you published stay in the catalogue, without your name. The stars you gave other people's routes stay too, linked to nobody.
If you do not want a route to stay, delete it before you delete your account, from Routes → Published. That removes its ratings and downloads too. Your own copy stays in your library.
A name written inside a title or a description is not removed automatically: write to us and we take it out.
The free hours and the free trial stay used up
The free hours and the 30-day free trial are counted per account and per phone. Deleting your account does not give this phone a fresh set of hours or a second trial.
For that we keep an irreversible fingerprint of the phone, with the free minutes used on it and, if a free trial was started on it, the date it started — no name, no address and no account. It is never used for advertising and is kept indefinitely.
What is on your phone
Deleting the account only deletes what is on your phone if you choose to. Your settings, downloaded maps and profile picture are never uploaded.
Uninstalling the app deletes what is on the phone. To keep a copy, export one first from Profile → Backup.
An account nobody uses
An account nobody signs into for two years is deleted. We write to the address on the account first.
If you pay for Mintakka
Deleting your account does not cancel or refund your Google Play subscription. If you create a new account, Profile → Account → Restore purchase moves it there.
